What is a Dog Run?

Artificial Grass - What is a Dog Run?

Whether you have a whole pack of poodles or just one dog, dog runs are useful, and your hairy friends will enjoy playing and running around in them. There are different types of dog runs, and when you decide what type of a dog run to use according to your available space and budget, make sure that you have a pretty good idea what dog run is and how you can employ it. A dog run is a restricted area where the dog is safely kept and have enough space to exercise. A dog run can be private or public, designed for a single dog, or for the entire pack, like, for example, a public dog park. Backyard Dog Run If you are a homeowner, you may allocate a unique space on one side of your house, or inside your yard. The easiest setup presumes metal fence, but if you like to use the wooden fence instead, make sure that your dog won't tear it up. Choose shadowy place with easy access to water. Dogs should always have fresh water and a shady area to rest when it is hot outside. If your backyard is big, often it is difficult to keep your dog inside the fence. Chaining a dog is not an ideal option for multiple reasons. In general, chained dogs often more neurotic, aggressive, anxious, and unhappy than unchained dogs. They can get bitten more often by other animals. They are not getting enough exercise. In some regions long-term chaining of dogs, it is prohibited by the law. Keeping your dog inside a dog run area while you are not around is safer and much healthier for both of you. If your backyard is too small, it is a better idea to fence your dog to make sure he can't escape and also to protect items he or she may chew on. If you use chemicals or fertilizers for your lawn, remember that it is not safe for animals. It might potentially create rashes and allergies, vomiting and liver problems. Synthetic turf surfaces are much safer for dogs if you want them to be in a good health. If you keep your dog inside a dog run with a natural grass surface, you will start to see brownish spots in a matter of months. No matter what you do, either try to hose it down or soak the area with nitrogen, it is impossible to get rid of them. Grass dies from dog's urine. It never happens if you have synthetic grass inside your dog run. Portable Dog Runs As an alternative, portable dog run can be useful to keep a dog out of trouble. It is more used for travel, but can be good as a temporary solution in some circumstances. Most pet stores carry portable dog runs. Dogs have much more freedom to do their "business" than traveling on a leash. Dog Parks Public, fenced-in, off-leash dog parks are another category of the dog run. Some dogs love socializing with their friends, but it is no for everyone. You can be removed from the dog park if your dog is active in an aggressive fashion. Check carefully your dog reactions to other dogs before entering the run with your dog. Otherwise, dog parks are the best, safe environment for your dog to run and play.

Homeowners Alert: New Way to Save Money on Water-Efficient Landscaping

Living in a modern society doesn't mean endless resources. As modern citizens, we should develop a way of thinking and act for a sustainable future. The use of water should be included in these plans as well. As you already know, the Planet is suffering because of gas emissions, and as temperatures are rising, above average values, the levels of water are diminishing. It is why some areas, which never had water supply issues in the past, now face periods of drought. It is up to us to make the changes that will ensure enough and clean water for the generations to come. A smart usage of water does not only mean lower bills, but will also ensure sufficient water supplies to pass drought periods, if they come. The things we can do to contribute to this change is the way we manage our household. There are many aspects we can avoid or improve, in order to minimize water consumption. Take turf for instance. It is great to have it around the house, but it needs a lot of time and resources to maintain the green aspect of it. And even in the months when rains are scarce, you will need to water it if you want to keep its aesthetic character. The larger the

Hollow Blade Has Arrived! Artificial Grass That Keeps Moisture Inside To Stabilize the Temperature of the Lawn

See pictures and specifications:Hollow Blade 73 If the heat absorbing properties of the artificial grass made you reluctant to buy; think again! Hollow Blade- first of its kind product by Global Syn-Turf is specially designed to lessen the temperature of the lawns during bright sunny days. This latest blade designed by GST has a hollow veil in the center of the grass which ensures that the temperature of the lawn continues to be stable and cool despite hot climate. It is stomata apertures that facilitate transpiration and cool grass as the escaping water vapor carries away heat energy. GST's Hollow Blade technology imitates the same process which helps in retaining moisture inside the stems for longer period thereby decreasing the lawn temperature. In the last few decades, technology in the artificial grass industry has come a long way. The most important element in the artificial grass industry is creating a right angle during blade designing since it plays

Shocking Climate Changes in Oregon: Drought Report

California has been getting the tons of attention for the historic drought, but it is not only one state that experiences severe economic impacts on agriculture and natural resources. The drought is officially declared in the state of Oregon. According to the final Water Supply Review for 2015, the NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service), Oregon's snowpack in the winter of 2015 peaked at the lowest levels ranked in the last 35 years. Numerous snow monitoring sites set records for the lowest peak snowpack and earliest melt-out date since measurements began. Streamflow is presumed to be well below normal through the end of summer, especially in the driest regions of the state. The current statewide average precipitation is 88%. In western Oregon, the snowpack topped 60-90% below the normal amounts. The snow melted three months earlier. The snowpack in the Eastern Oregon was insignificantly better, peaking 30-80% below average levels and up to 2 months earlier than usual. Lack of normal snowpack has led to lowest streamflow for the state. According to the National Drought Monitor, most of Oregon is included in the severe to extreme drought group. In 2015, Governor Kate Brown declared a drought state of emergency in 15 counties, as

Sacramento: Back to Desert, or Lifting a Ban on Artificial Grass?

Sacramento Planning Commission is considering to lift a 1984 ban that prohibited to install artificial grass in the front yards. Due to the new California drought emergency water conservation regulations, state officials must take all necessary action to prepare for water shortages. Artificial grass is the alternative landscape option available to home and business owners today. In California cities, except Sacramento, rebates are offered by local water agencies to those who volunteer to tear off their water-thirsty lawns and turn them into a drought-tolerant landscape. But before the ban is lifted, Sacramento residents who installed synthetic lawns on their front yards can be fined by authorities. Artificial grass technology in 1984 didn't allow natural, super-realistic look offered today. Synthetic turf back then was primarily used by sports industry. The initial 1984 ordinance was imposed to keep the aesthetics of the city intact. The time has changed. The artificial grass industry has evolved dramatically. Today, we have more than 75 artificial grass products intended for residential and commercial applications. We use more than a dozen unique technologies to replicate the feel and look of the natural grass. Synthetic lawns today look more alive, green and beautiful than regular lawns. Plus, they require
